"Into the Hood" February Post

It was a gloomy Monday afternoon
And Mike, Christian and I would have to leave soon.
Paterson was our destination,
A place often characterized by damnation.

The trip to Paterson  seemed rather grim
As we the stormy weather made me feel like i was going for a swim.
The rush-hour traffic was atrocious
And we sat there and said "this is hopeless."

Upon entering the town we thought we were done
When we looked to our left to see a sign reading "ammo and guns."
After looking for a parking spot in the snow for what felt like an hour
I did no want to leave the car as I started to cower.

However, things changed for the better when we arrived at Eva's Village
And in my head formed a positive image.
We suddenly all felt safe and comfortable
Since the people there were gracious and looking for anything but trouble.

  1. I felt just as scared to go into the charity, but everyone seemed friendly there to. i like how you made it a joke about cowering in the car. really funny.
