And Mike, Christian and I would have to leave soon.
Paterson was our destination,
A place often characterized by damnation.
The trip to Paterson seemed rather grim
As we the stormy weather made me feel like i was going for a swim.
The rush-hour traffic was atrocious
And we sat there and said "this is hopeless."
Upon entering the town we thought we were done
When we looked to our left to see a sign reading "ammo and guns."
After looking for a parking spot in the snow for what felt like an hour
I did no want to leave the car as I started to cower.
However, things changed for the better when we arrived at Eva's Village
And in my head formed a positive image.
We suddenly all felt safe and comfortable
Since the people there were gracious and looking for anything but trouble.

I felt just as scared to go into the charity, but everyone seemed friendly there to. i like how you made it a joke about cowering in the car. really funny.
ReplyDeleteI would be just as scared as you. Great poem!
ReplyDeleteI think the scariest part was your driving Chris! Just kidding, the neighborhood was a little scary.
ReplyDeleteI can only imagine how scared you were!
