"Bear Mountain"

Bear Mountain was a beautiful site;
I came to this place in such delight.
Ready to take pictures of everything I saw
Including a bear with a stick in its jaw.

The view from the edge was spectacular
For I have never seen anything of its caliber.
Mr. Pevny was our tour guide
As we hiked up and down the mountain side

Our class walked across the large suspension bridge
To get to the other side of the ridge.
I got the chance to take many colorful photos
Instead of taking pictures in the school of cheesy logos.

Although the weather that day was rough
We would be on our way home soon enough.
While we were snoozing, Mr. Pevny took pictures of us
I guess that's what happens when you fall asleep on the bus.

"My Trials of Garret Mountain"

As I gathered at the starting line of the race
All of the top runners set a fast pace.
I could tell that this would not be fun
But I would be proud when it's all done.

Halfway through my race, my coach would tell me to relax
However, I could already feel myself starting to slack.
My breathing was more rapid than ever before
Fearing that I would not be able to keep this up anymore.

Though the scenery was quite peaceful
I found the surroundings to be rather deceitful.
The competition was clearly coming to an end
But the last part was a steep hill, one that I must ascend.

My mind was telling me to continue going
But my body had already started slowing.
And the feeling of sprinting up that hill was very painful
Although the instant I finished the race I feeling quite grateful.
